Artist's models

Well September has been a really busy month for us because as you might gather we have been busy modelling! To be more accurate it would seem that we have been doing this modelling for some time without realising it.

Joan returned from a trip North to see her Mum to find an email from an artist saying she had seen our photos on the internet and would like to do some paintings of us and she wondered if Joan would let her use some of our photos.

Needless to say we were all really surprised and Joan was very happy to send her a range of her favourite photos to choose from. She is a very quick worker and it didn't take very long before Joan spotted a painting by Anna Tikhomirova-Gold on eBay which looked remarkably like me. Anna has a web site called Cat Fine Art where she has paintings of Birmans, Ragdolls, Siamese and other cats. She also has a shop on eBay called Anna Fine Art where she auctions some of her original work.

Both are well worth a look if you love cats and like art. I doubt you will be surprised to know that Joan now has two lovely paintings on her wall painted by Anna - I think she now just needs one of Max up there to complete her set and we can't have Max being left out can we?

You may not be surprised to know that this interest in our photos prompted Joan to get out the camera and start snapping away again. She found some red and some blue fabric to use as a background and got busy.

We tried to be good and pose well for her but it didn't always work out quite how she had expected especially when she got too close with the 'wand' thing she used to get our attention.

Well what do you expect with a fluffy thing around and three very lively Birmans with a huge sense of fun?

Because she always takes lots of pictures it did give a bit of amusement and she decided also to have a little bit of fun with some fairies to give the session a bit of variety - somehow we think that this year's Christmas cards might be a bit different from previous years - see what you think.

The month ended very sadly with Joan having to go away and leave us because her mother was really poorly. She has been very ill for some time but was admitted to hospital on 24th September 2005 and sadly died on 27th September.
