It seems like a long time since we updated the web site, in fact looking back it certainly is a long time. The last new page was way back in February and quite a lot has happened since I last wrote my page - I believe that I can now call it a 'blog' and, as you know if you are a regular reader of this site, it has been going since before blogs became popular so I suppose I can consider myself something of a leader in this field? So what have we been up to over the months? Well we have had road closures to contend with for absolutely months. After the big hole in the road was filled in, and within days of the road reopening, another hole appeared and that had to be repaired. Then the water company decided to replace the water main so we have had more months of closures and it will be another couple of months before the road reopens for good! We have had a bit of a miserable Summer in that the weather has been a little disappointing but nothing like as bad as the rest of England has endured. We have been lucky to miss out on the flooding and we send out our sympathies to everyone who had to deal with all the problems caused by that. This hasn't been a bad year for us although Max did get a nasty infection in his shoulder at the end of August. Joan thinks it was a bite or claw mark that got infected but she cleaned it all up for him and he is fine now and seems none the worse. |

In September we had a visitor from the USA! Susan, who writes regularly to Joan, finally came over to meet us having read all about us for years. We tried to make her feel at home (well at least Max and Oscar did - I stayed a little distance away so that she could watch me but not actually touch!). She has three lovely Birmans herself and she was missing them so Max slept with her every night so that she wasn't lonely without them. Joan bought a new camera after Susan's visit - she had been using Susan's camera and was impressed with all the features it had so she is now the proud owner of a Fuji Finepix s6500fd camera. She says she loves Fuji cameras for taking our photos and she is getting ready for the 2008 calendar so we are busy posing on a regular basis and setting her quite a challenge to get some lovely photos of us.
