Christmas is coming!

We have begun to realise that Christmas isn't far away. When we are on our travels we see lots of lovely lights on the houses and on the lampposts and the other night Father Christmas came past the house on his sleigh with lots of people walking around with collecting tins.

We do of course have our very own Father Christmas who sits on the window sill and sways from side to side. Max and I remember him from last year but this is the first time that Oscar has seen him.

Each of us went over to Santa to say hello and we hope that he won't forget to bring us something on Christmas morning!

I think that Joan finds this time of year quite stressful - she seems to worry a lot and goes shopping a great deal but we gather all humans are like that in this country so we have stopped worrying about her. We think that once Christmas arrives she will settle down and relax and we can all take it in turns to sit on her knee for an extra cuddle.

Lara meets Santa

Max says 'Hi'

and Oscar is fascinated!

As you have probably gathered Joan has been busy with the camera again and she found a little Snowman who sang a jolly Christmas song which she thought we might like.

I thought he was rather good so I sat down to listen to him. Max was not keen - he didn't like his singing so he disappeared out of the way. Oscar was curious but fairly nervous about getting too close to him so he settled for hiding behind the curtain out of sight.

Of course Oscar finds it irresistible to stay away for long so he decided to approach from behind and grab him through the curtain and, as you might expect, I found the whole business fascinating!

Lara sits and watches

As Lara watches Oscar attacks from behind!

The other thing that happens around this time of year is that Joan's flowering cactus comes into bloom and she always tries to get us to pose in front of it. We don't mind if we also get to play with our favourite toy the 'Cat dancer' as we are here!

Max eventually relented and agreed to have his photo taken - just. Moments later he was playing with me and Oscar!

Just so that Oscar doesn't feel too left out Joan managed to get a snap of me and him playing around in the new house ( or should I say lounging around?)
