Christmas 2005

December 2005 has been quite a busy month here because not only does Christmas fall in December so did my fourth birthday so Joan sort of insisted that I pose for a birthday photo and you can see me on the right trying to look very regal and grown up!

Yes I know I look a bit serious in this shot but as you get older you do need to look a bit more serious don't you think?

We had a lovely Christmas Day at home with Joan. On Christmas morning it was a superb bright sunny day and Joan brought in our Christmas present. Once we had unwrapped it I realised that it was the most lovely box complete with lid which was just about the right size for me which I thought was great so I made myself at home in it right away.

The boys decided that they would play with the contents rather than the box which was a toy called Kitty-go-Krazy and you can see a picture of them playing with it below.

Because it is more of an 'action' toy Joan made a little video of us playing with it which you can see by clicking in this link. Then you can really see the Kitty go crazy

Lara settles in the box!

Joan had a nice long Christmas holiday this year so we thought we might see more of her than usual and we were quite right. On the day after Boxing Day we got snow! The roads around here are very narrow and little used so, as she didn't need to go to work, she stayed home and played with us for most of the week.

I am not really very enthusuastic about snow but both Max and Oscar seem to find it quite good fun. They stalked each other and raced and chased around the garden - I don't know why, I find it just too cold on my little paws so I will go out for a quick look but then like to get back indoors for the warmth.

When Oscar came back indoors he and I settled for a snooze on the climber and spent much of the day watching the snow showers through the window. I guess I am more 'built for comfort' than the great outdoors in the winter months. I can hardly wait for the Spring and a bit of warmer weather!

Oscar and Lara take it easy indoors away from the snow!

As you will have realised we are a lively lttle trio to have around the house and one of the things we like best at Christmas is the fact that boxes tend to appear from time to time and there is really nothing we like better as a plaything than a box!

The best way to play in a box is to hide inside and then spring out when someone passes by. That way they just might join in and then you can have a really great game together.

Hopefully you can see that we have had a fun time this Christmas trying hard to keep Joan's spirits up in this first Christmas since her mother's death. We really do think we have managed to make her happy as she has laughed a lot at us and our antics!

That was the general idea and we are so pleased it seems to have worked - we know she is looking forward to 2006 and we wish all our readers a very
Happy New Year!

Lara
