2006 has arrived
Happy New Year to all our readers. We hope you have a wonderful year and that the year got off to a great start. We had lots of fun - Joan went out on New Year's Eve but made sure she got back in good time before midnight in case the fireworks were too loud for us. They weren't because after the next door neighbour had her 80th birthday party on Bonfire Night anything would be quiet in comparison. On New Year's Day Joan got out our New Year present which was the famous Panic Mouse that all our American friends say is absolutely wonderful. We agree - it is great fun and Max and Oscar play with it fairly regularly and if Joan hasn't switched it on they play with the wand until she notices they are looking for a game. There is a video of us playing with it which shows how polite and good we are when we play together (well sometimes!) so if you want to watch the video click here and then select it from the list. The picture on the right shows us all sitting watching it and because Max celebrated his fourth birthday during January Joan did a little bit of digital trickery to show what it would have looked like if we had a party for him! |

Oscar and Pinkie |
Talking of new toys, we got a new playmate by the name of Pinkie who seems to come out to play whenever Joan wants to take our photos. Oscar is really taken with him (but then Oscar loves anything he can play with) so he posed for lots of pictures and tried to get in on the act when Max and I were trying to pose! Joan is getting a little better at taking our photos and we think the 2006 calendar was quite good. She had some properly printed and sold the spare one on eBay so we are quite proud that someone somewhere has our pictures on their wall each day. We hope next year might be even better but then I guess that depends on us being in the mood to pose. Quite a lot of people have downloaded the free calendars on this site so we might be just a teeny weeny bit famous already! The snow eventually disappeared and we had a few nice mild days but we are now back to frosty mornings and yesterday was really cold and the central heating broke down and we had to snuggle together all night to keep warm. It was bitter cold but thankfully a nice man came and mended it this morning so we are all snug again. Joan says we must be a bit soft as we do have fur coats but I love my radiator bed and there is no point sitting in it if the radiator isn't working. We all piled on to the rug in the front of the gas fire this morning and Joan complained because she couldn't get anywhere near to it! |

We have had a great start to 2006 - apart from the heating problem. We hope you all have a wonderful year and keep reading our adventures. Lara |
