Happy New Year 2004

We wish you a really Happy New Year and hope that in 2004 you realise all your dreams! Talking of dreams Oscar was only one of us who stayed up to welcome in the New Year with Joan.

Max and I had both gone to bed because we thought it was late and we do need our beauty sleep of course! Needless to say just after midnight all hell broke loose and there were bangs and pops lighting up the night sky with those rocket things that we enjoyed watching so much in November.

We weren't too keen on New Year's Eve because they woke us with a start from our dreams and it did upset us a bit as we were really very comfortable and settled.

The late night caught up with Oscar the next day and he spent most of the day fast asleep in the washbasin!

Oscar catching up on his sleep

and that is quite a lot of sleep!

We really, really enjoyed the Christmas holiday because Joan took some time off work and stayed at home with us. We had lots of great games and I have decided to be the leader of the games because both the boys are turning into 'couch potatoes' and they really do need some exercise (especially Oscar!)

My favourite game with Joan is still the one with the 'cat dancer' the new mice are OK but the cat dancer leaps and twists and is so unpredictable I never get fed up of chasing around. Oscar has started to join in with me when I chase it but Max just sits and watches - I guess he thinks that three of us leaping about would be just too much for Joan to cope with.

Max and Oscar are getting on a lot better these days - Oscar regards Max as something of a hero and follows him around copying what he does. They do still wrestle a lot but what do you expect from boys?

Lara relaxing by the Buddha!

I am quite happy to play with both of them but it hasn't got to be too rough or else I wander off to a favourite hiding place!

Max taking it easy

Max, Lara and Oscar

There are times of course when we all cuddle up together and relax and the photo on the left shows the three of us taking it easy in the new house.

Peace reigned for about ten minutes before we all found something much more interesting to keep our attention.
